Indications for a home visit

A home visit may be appropriate when a patient’s medical condition makes travel to a clinic difficult or when an on-site medical assessment is required as part of coordinated care.

Typical indications include:

• Fever, sore throat, cough, or suspected infection
• Acute illness with reduced general condition
• Medical conditions requiring assessment but not hospital emergency care
• Situations where travel to a medical facility is not medically appropriate

All cases are subject to medical triage prior to confirmation.

Scope of the medical service

During a home visit, the physician provides a structured medical assessment based on the patient’s symptoms and clinical findings.

The service may include:

• Medical history and clinical examination
• Assessment of diagnosis and treatment needs
• Medical advice and care planning
• Referral or coordination with other healthcare providers or hospital care when indicated
• Any medications, laboratory tests, or further investigations are assessed individually and are not included unless specifically agreed.

Insurance & assistance handling

Home visits are provided upon request from insurance or international assistance companies and are subject to medical appropriateness and availability.

• A Guarantee of Payment (GOP) is required prior to dispatch unless otherwise agreed
• Services are billed according to a fixed-fee structure based on medical complexity, urgency, and location
• Medical documentation and reporting can be provided upon request

All services are delivered in accordance with Swedish healthcare legislation, GDPR, and strict medical confidentiality.
